The Woman In White
Boradway Production

The London Production of 'The Woman In White' opened on 15th September, 2004. It was an immediate success despite the misgivings of some critics. The music is superb and the story cannot be faulted, although I still prefer to read it than to listen to it as an operetta.

The cast was revised, and the production amended in the early summer of 2005. Some of the original cast went to New York in preparation for the Broadway opening.

The Show opened at New York's Marquis Teatre on November 17, 2005. American audiences, and critics seem to have taken to it.

Maria Friedman, the star of the musical, "The Woman in White," stood at the center of the stage of the Marquis Theater on Thursday, accepting a sustained standing ovation for her performance as the show's plucky Victorian heroine.

Her performance was excellent, and the more so since just ten days previously she had received surgical treatment for breast cancer.
